Our Story
Car Enthusiasts First
Surrounded by burned-out techs more focused on paychecks than precision, and service managers more interested in upselling than serving, Raz and Dave saw an opportunity to do things differently. Too often, the dealership environment lacked the true enthusiasm and integrity that car owners deserve.
So, in 2010, with a shared vision and a whole lot of drive, they set out to build something better:
A shop run by true car nuts. A team of skilled, honest technicians who live and breathe German engineering.
By 2011, AU TUNING was born. What started small quickly gained momentum, expanding to two locations in Huntington Beach and Lake Forest before finally planting permanent roots in Placentia, California. A community they’re proud to serve.

Auto Union Tuning (AU TUNING) was founded in 2011 by owners Raz and Dave, who together bring over 38 years of combined professional Audi and Volkswagen repair experience. Their journey began in 2006, both starting out as Audi technicians. But it didn’t take long for them to notice something missing in the dealership repair world: transparency and passion.
